The Legendary Doctor and His Companion is a period fantasy romance television series directed by Lai Shuiqing and starring Alyssa Chia, Vincent Zhao, Liu Xuehua, Zhang Tielin, and Gao Yuanyuan. It was released in 2004. The series is based on historical events from the Western Han Dynasty and primarily tells the story of the complex and tense court struggles between Empress Lü and Liu Xuan, a descendant of Liu Bang, as well as the emotional entanglements between Liu Xuan and Qinzi and Tiying.
